The Voice of the DBA After spending a decade working for THE MAN, I founded a publishing company with some partners to educate and teach people about databases in the Real World. Using our experience and an open, friendly site, we built SQLServerCentral.com.
We were so successful that we sold the company in 2006 and I found myself working for someone else again. That's ok because I love my job. I started a daily editorial in 2004 and it's been going ever since. You can read the daily writings on the site. In 2006 I considered podcasting, but was actually too afraid to give it a try. Then in 2007 I saw a few technology podcasts from Chris Pirillo on iTunes. I knew I could produce something like that, but it wasn't until I saw Geekbrief that I was inspired to try it myself. After a few weeks of audio recordings, I added some videos as well. So this is it. Someone dubbed me the Voice of the DBA, and for better or worse, that's what I'm using. Let me know what you think and what could make the show better. I'm also always looking for music to include as well, so if you're in a band, send me a sample (sjones at sqlservercentral.com). |
